The Padma Bridge Paragraph

The Padma Bridge is the longest in Bangladesh. It is a two-tier road-rail bridge on the river Padma. It is the 122nd-longest bridge in the world. The foundation stone of the Padma Bridge was laid on 4 July 2001 and the construction of the bridge was inaugurated on 12 December 2015. After many hurdles, finally, on 25 June 2022, our honorable Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina inaugurated the Padma Bridge through a grand atmosphere and opened it to the public. The bridge is located at Mawa of Munshiganj district and Jajira area of Shariatpur district. The upper level of the Padma Bridge is connected by road and the lower level by railway. As a result of the construction of the bridge, 21 districts of the Southern and Southwestern regions of the country have been connected with the capital of Bangladesh, Dhaka. Basically, the Padma Bridge is a development potential for Bangladesh. The construction of the Padma Bridge is expected to increase the GDP of Bangladesh by 1.23%, the GDP of the Southwest region by 2.3%, and poverty alleviation by 0.84%. Besides, because of the construction of this bridge, the speed of activities of Mongla and Payra ports along with the industrialization of the country will increase manifold. People of neglected and deprived South and South-Western regions will get benefits from gas, electricity, and optical fiber lines. The Padma Bridge is 6.15 km long and 18 meters wide. There are 41 spans, 42 pillars, 294 piles, 4 lanes, 415 lampposts, and 2917 road slabs on this bridge. The Padma Bridge was built by China Major Bridge Engineering Company Limited. The bridge was built entirely with Bangladesh's own funding. This Padma Bridge is expected to change the economic scenario of Bangladesh fully and take Bangladesh from a developing country to a developed country lists. In fact, the Padma Bridge is a great blessing and beacon of hope for the people of 64 districts of Bangladesh, including 21 districts of South and South-Western regions. So, along with the government, we all should take responsibility to look after the Padma Bridge.
