Pohela Boishakh Paragraph
Pohela Boishakh is the first day of
the Bangla calendar. It is the happiest day in the national life of
Bengalis. Bengalis all over the world including Bangladesh celebrate the
festival on this day. All Bengalis spend Pohela Boishakh in a festive
atmosphere from dawn to dusk. Especially, on the first day of Boishakh,
Boishakhi Mela is held all over the country in a grand atmosphere. First of
all, the festival starts early in the morning by welcoming the New Year at
Ramna Batamul. And, the main song of the festival is "Eso hey Boishakh Eso
Eso" People from all walks of life participate in
this festival. On the morning of the Mela, everyone, young and old,
joins the Pohela Boishakh festival in groups, wearing Punjabi, sari and special
Pohela Boishakh clothes. Throughout the day, discussion meetings and cultural
programs are organized at various places in the country including Bangla
Academy, Shishu Academy, Shilpakala Academy and Bulbul Lalita Kala
Academy. Somewhere in the country, various ancient sports are arranged.
Besides, the main attractions of this festival are panta vat and hilsa
fish. Shopkeepers also open new accounts called Halkhatar on Pohela
Boishakh and offer sweets to the customers. In fact, Pohela Boishakh reminds us
of the real history and traditions of Bengalis. So, as Bengalis, we all should
celebrate Pohela Boishakh every year in a joyous mood.
