Paragraph the Sundarbans

The Sundarbans is one of the largest mangrove forests in the world. It is located in the southwestern part of Bangladesh. It is surrounded by the borders of Bangladesh and India. The total area of Sundarbans is about 10 thousand square kilometers. The area of the Sundarbans in the Bangladesh part is 6,517 square kilometers. Hundreds of rivers have increased the beauty of the Sundarbans. There are many beautiful trees in the Sundarbans. Among them “Sundari Tree” is mentionable. And, the Sundarbans was named Sundarbans after this “Sundari Tree”. The Sundarbans is famous for its unique ecosystem and wild biodiversity. It is home to the world-famous Royal Bengal Tiger, spotted deer, monkeys, crocodiles, various types of birds and snakes. Every year many poor people go to the Sundarbans to collect firewood and honey and to catch fish by sailing boats. The natural beauty of this forest attracts the local and foreign tourists. As a result, many tourists visit the Sundarbans every year. The Sundarbans plays an important role in our national economy by providing many valuable resources including timber, firewood and industrial raw materials. Besides, the Sundarbans is the source of livelihood for many poor people. This forest was declared the 52nd World Heritage Site in the world by UNESCO in 1997. As a result, people from every country in the world are familiar with the Sundarbans now. But it is a matter of great sorrow that the Sundarbans is on the verge of destruction because of river erosion, rising sea levels, storms and increasing salinity. We should remember that the Sundarbans is a great asset for Bangladesh and India. So, we have to protect the Sundarbans from destruction at any cost.
