Finite verb classification

A verb is called the heart of a sentence অর্থাৎ verb কে sentence এর হৃদপিণ্ড বলা। হৃদপিণ্ড ছাড়া যেমনটি মানুষ সম্ভব না ঠিক তেমনি verb ছাড়া sentence সম্ভব না। এই verb প্রধানতঃ দুই প্রকার। Finite verb ও Non finite verb. আজ আমি এই আর্টিকেলে Finite verb classification নিয়ে বিস্তারিতভাবে আলোচনা করেছি। তোমরা Finite verb classification সম্পর্কে সুন্দরভাবে জানতে আর্টিকেলটি মনোযোগ সহকারে পড়বে। চলো তাহলে Finite verb classification নিয়ে আলোচনা করা যাক।

Finite verb কাকে বলে?

যে Verb বাক্যের অর্থ প‍রিপূর্ণ রূপে সমাপ্ত বা শেষ করে তাকে Finite verb বা সমাপিকা ক্রিয়া বলে।

যেমন:

I want to buy a mobile phone..

এখানে want finite verb.

2. He is learning English to get a good job.

এখানে learning finite verb.

Finite verb কত প্রকার ও কি কি?

সাধারণত Finite verb কে দুই ভাগে ভাগ করা যায়।

যথা:

1. Principal verb

2. Auxiliary verb

Principal verb কাকে বলে?

যে Verb অন‍্য verb এর সাহায্য ছাড়া নিজে নিজে বাক্যে অর্থ সম্পূর্ণ রূপে প্রকাশ করতে পারে তাকে Principal Verb বলে।

যেমন:

1. He learns English.

এখানে learn principal verb.

2. You are a student.

এখানে are principal verb.

Auxiliary verb কাকে বলে?

যে Verb Principal verb এর যথাযথ অর্থ প্রকাশ করতে সাহায্য করে এবং মাঝে মাঝে Principal verb হিসাবে ব‍্যবহৃত হয় তাকে তাকে Auxiliary Verb বলে।

যেমন:

1. He is teaching English.

এখানে is an auxiliary verb.

2. I have done the work.

এখানে have an auxiliary verb

Principal Verb কে দুই ভাগে ভাগ করা যায়।

যথা:

1. Transitive verb

2. Intransitive verb

Transitive verb কাকে বলে?

যে Verb এর সর্বদা Object থাকে তাকে Transitive Verb বলে।

যেমনঃ

1. She sings a song.

এখানে sing transitive verb.

2. We take tea.

এখানে take transitive verb.

Intransitive verb কাকে বলে?

যে Verb এর object থাকে না অথবা যে verb এর পরে Preposition+noun/pronoun থাকে তাকে Intransitive Verb বলে।

যেমনঃ

1. Birds fly.

এখানে fly intransitive verb.

2. He goes to college.

এখানে goes intransitive verb

Auxiliary verb কে দুই ভাগে ভাগ করা যায়।

যথা:

1. Primary auxiliary

2. Secondary/Model auxiliary

Modal auxiliary কাকে বলে?

Do, have ও be ছাড়া বাকি সব auxiliary verb গুলোকে Secondary/Modal auxiliary বলে।

যেমন:

Can, could, shall, should, will, would, may, might, must, ought to, had better, had rather, would better, would rather, need, let, dare, be to ইত্যাদি।
