Deforestation is an
environmental problem worldwide. It is a great threat to the environment. Basically, deforestation means cutting down trees on a large scale. It causes
ecological imbalance. Despite knowing the bad effects of deforestation,
some selfish and greedy people continue cutting down trees. As a result, our
environment is facing many problems. So, the government should take strong
steps to prevent deforestation.
Causes of
deforestation:
There are many significant
causes of deforestation. The main causes of it are the excessive greed of
unscrupulous businessmen, agriculture, wood-based industries, firewood, burning
bricks, melting pitches, forest fires, overpopulation, urbanization, etc.
Due to these reasons, a large number of trees are being lost every day.
Bad effects of deforestation:
Deforestation has many bad
effects on humans and animals. It causes a massive increase in carbon
dioxide which leads to global warming. The world climate is gradually
changing. It also causes soil erosion and increases natural disasters such
as floods and droughts worldwide. Not only this, deforestation creates future
food shortages, extinction of wildlife and loss of biodiversity. Indeed,
deforestation is a great threat to wildlife.
Ways to prevent
deforestation:
Deforestation can be prevented
in many ways. Firstly, cutting down trees must be prohibited. Secondly,
severe penalties should be imposed against those who are cutting down trees at
random. Thirdly, wood-based industrial factories should be closed.
Fourthly, we all should plant more trees every year. Above all, the
government has to take strong steps to prevent deforestation.
Finally, deforestation is very
harmful to our environment. It causes various problems in our and animal
life. So, we have to prevent deforestation by thinking about our future
generations. Otherwise, our beautiful world will turn into a desert one
day.
