Bangabandhu satellite paragraph
Bangabandhu Satellite-1 is the first
geostationary communication satellite in Bangladesh. It is a significant
milestone for our country. It was launched from the Kennedy Space Center
in Florida, USA on May 11, 2018, by a SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket. Generally, the
satellite was named in memory of the Father of the Nation, Bangabandhu Sheikh
Mujibur Rahman. The objective of this satellite was to provide
telecommunication and broadcasting services throughout Bangladesh and its
neighboring countries such as India, Nepal, Bhutan, Sri Lanka, Philippines and
Indonesia. It has brought many benefits to Bangladesh. Its
significant benefits are improving communication services, providing better
internet connectivity and enhancing the disaster management capacity of the country. It
has also helped reduce the dependence on foreign satellites of Bangladesh for
communication and broadcasting services. However, the successful launch of
Bangabandhu Satellite-1 put Bangladesh on the map as a satellite-owning
country. It has displayed the technological capabilities and potential of
the country. In fact, Bangabandhu Satellite-1 ushered in a new era in
Bangladesh's space exploration.
