A village market composition

A village market is an important place for the villagers. There is a village market in every big village in Bangladesh. The villagers buy and sell their daily necessities in a village market. Actually, a village market is a gathering place for all classes of people in a village.

A village market is of two types. One is a hat and the other is a bazaar. The hat sits once or twice a week but the bazar sits every day during the week. Both the hat and the bazaar are open from morning to evening or midnight.

Usually, a village market sits in an open place within a village by a river or canal side. Buyers and sellers come to a village market to buy and sell their daily necessities by boat through a river or a canal or through the road by bus. Mainly, the location of a village market is selected based on the advantage of transportation for buyers and sellers.

Generally, a village market is divided into three parts. They are permanent shops, temporary shops, and open fields. Clothes, shoes, rice wheat, flour, ghee, sweets, and spices are sold in permanent shops. Tailors, barbers, and tea vendors are also in permanent shops. Oil, salt, onion, garlic, ginger, and pulses are sold in temporary shops. Vegetables, milk, fish, fruits, and betel nuts are sold in the open field. This place is always crowded.

Despite its many advantages, a village market also has some disadvantages. The aforementioned disadvantages of a village market are a dirty environment, uncontrolled prices, theft, robbery, gambling, terrorism, etc. Due to these difficulties, the environment of a village market is spoiled.

Finally, a village market is a very useful and important place in the lives of the villagers. Here they get a chance to meet their relatives and different types of people. Besides, many villagers lead their lives by selling goods. Many turn the wheel of fortune by selling their products. Many others meet the needs of their families by buying fresh products. So the importance of a village market can never be denied.
