Money cannot bring happiness story
Once upon a time, there lived a happy cobbler in a village. He spent the whole day happily doing his work and singing. He had a rich neighbor who was a banker. One day the rich banker neighbor came to him and said, "How much do you earn a year?" The cobbler replied, "I don't know and I never think so." On hearing this, the rich neighbor said, "I know your income is very low. That's why you lead a miserable life. I will help you." Then the cobbler said, "Sir, my income is low but I am happy with what I earn." The next day the rich banker came to the cobbler with a bag of money and said, "There is a lot of money in this bag. All this money is for you. You take this money." The cobbler was surprised to see so much money together and refused to take the money. Then the rich banker said, "With this money, you can change your fortune and this money will also help you in your danger." On hearing this, the cobbler took the bag of money from the banker and thanked him. Then the cobbler reached home with the bag of money. After reaching home, the cobbler was very worried about the bag of money. He could not find any suitable place to keep the bag of money safe. However, he dug a hole in his house and put the bag of money in the hole. Even despite keeping the bag of money in an unknown hole, the cobbler could not be free from worry. He always thought that his bag of money could be stolen anytime. He could not sleep all night thinking about that money. Even with that money, he could not concentrate on his work. Finally, he realized that he had a lot of money now but there was no happiness or peace in his mind. The next day the cobbler went to the rich banker with the bag of money and said, “Sir, take back your bag of money. This money has taken away the peace of my mind and sleep from my eyes. So, I don't need that kind of money anymore.” Saying this, the cobbler left the bag of money and went away.
The
moral of the story:
Money can never bring true happiness. True happiness lies in contentment.

একটি টাকার ব্যাগ নিয়ে মুচির কাছে এসে বলল, “এই ব্যাগে অনেক টাকা আছে। এই সব টাকা তোমার জন্য। তুমি এই টাকাগুলো নাও।" মুচি
এত টাকা একসাথে দেখে অবাক হয়ে টাকা নিতে অস্বীকার করল। তখন ধনী ব্যাংকার বলল,
"এই টাকা দিয়ে তুমি তোমার ভাগ্য বদলাতে পারবে এবং এই টাকা তোমার বিপদেও সাহায্য
করবে।" একথা শুনে মুচি ব্যাংকারের কাছ থেকে টাকার ব্যাগ নিয়ে তাকে
ধন্যবাদ জানাল। তারপর মুচি টাকার ব্যাগ নিয়ে বাড়ি পৌঁছে গেল। বাড়িতে পৌঁছে মুচি
টাকার ব্যাগ নিয়ে খুব চিন্তিত হয়ে পড়ল। সে টাকার ব্যাগ নিরাপদে রাখার জন্য কোন উপযুক্ত
জায়গা খুঁজে পাচ্ছিল না। যাইহোক, সে নিজের বাড়িতে গর্ত খুঁড়ে টাকার ব্যাগটা গর্তে রাখলো।
টাকার ব্যাগটা অজানা গর্তে রেখেও মুচি দুশ্চিন্তামুক্ত হতে পারল না। সে সবসময় ভাবতে থাকল যে তার টাকার
ব্যাগ যেকোন সময় চুরি হয়ে যেতে পারে। ঐ টাকার কথা ভাবতে ভাবতে সে সারা রাত ঘুমাতে
পারত না। ঐ টাকার জন্য সে নিজের কাজেও মন দিতে পারত না। অবশেষে সে বুঝতে পারলো যে তার
কাছে এখন অনেক টাকা আছে কিন্তু তার মনে সুখ বা শান্তি নেই। পরের
দিন সে টাকার ব্যাগটি নিয়ে ধনী ব্যাংকারের কাছে গিয়ে বলল, "স্যার, আপনার টাকার
ব্যাগ ফিরিয়ে নিন। এই টাকা আমার মনের শান্তি ও চোখের ঘুম কেড়ে নিয়েছে। তাই
আমার এই ধরনের টাকা আর দরকার নেই।" এই বলে মুচি টাকার ব্যাগটি রেখে
চলে গেল।
গল্পের নৈতিকতা: টাকা কখনও প্রকৃত সুখ আনতে পারে না। প্রকৃত সুখ সন্তষ্টির মধ্যেই নিহিত।
