The fox and the crow completing story
Once upon a time, there lived
a fox and a crow in a forest. The fox was very greedy and clever. On the
other hand, the crow was very foolish. One day the crow stole a piece of
meat from a butcher's shop and sat on the branch of a tree. The cunning
fox saw it and sat under the tree to eat the piece of meat. He thought for a
while how he would take the piece of meat from the crow. At last, he made
a good plan. According to the plan, he started praising the crow. He said
to the crow, "You look very beautiful today." After hearing this,
the crow did not respond. Then he said, "You can sing sweet songs.
Will you sing a song? I love to hear your song." On hearing this from the
fox, the crow was flattered. So, he started singing loudly. But no
sooner had he opened his beaks to sing than the piece of meat fell from his
beaks to the ground. Immediately the fox started eating it. After
eating the piece of meat, the fox said, “O foolish crow! Don't be flattered by
praise”. The crow realized his mistake and sat on the tree like a
fool. And, the clever fox went away leaving the place.

এক সময় এক জঙ্গলে এক শেয়াল ও এক কাক বাস করত। শিয়ালটি খুব লোভী ও চালাক ছিল। অন্যদিকে, কাকটি ছিল
খুবই বোকা। একদিন কাক কসাইয়ের
দোকান থেকে এক টুকরো মাংস চুরি করে গাছের ডালে বসল। ধূর্ত শেয়াল তা দেখল
এবং মাংসের টুকরোটি খেতে গাছের নিচে এসে বসল। সে কিছুক্ষণ ভাবল কিভাবে সে কাকের নিকট
থেকে মাংসের টুকরোটি নিবে। অবশেষে, সে একটি ভাল
পরিকল্পনা করল। পরিকল্পনা অনুযায়ী, সে কাককে প্রশংসা করতে লাগল। সে কাককে বলল, "আজ তোমাকে খুব সুন্দর লাগছে," এই কথা শোনার
পর কাকটি কোনো সাড়া দিল না। তারপর সে বলল,
"তুমি মিষ্টি গান গাইতে পারো। তুমি কি একটি গান গাইবে? তোমার গান শুনতে আমার ভালো
লাগে।" শেয়ালের নিকট থেকে
একথা শুনে কাকটি অভিভূত হয়ে গেল। তাই সে জোরে জোরে গান
গাইতে লাগল। কিন্তু গান গাইতে সে
তার ঠোঁট খুলতে না যেতেই তার ঠোঁট থেকে মাংসের টুকরোটি মাটিতে পড়ে গেল। সঙ্গে সঙ্গে শিয়াল তা খেতে শুরু করল। মাংসের টুকরোটি খেয়ে শেয়াল বলল, “ওরে বোকা কাক! প্রশংসার দ্বারা অভিভূত হয়ো না" কাক তার ভুল বুঝতে পারল এবং বোকার মত গাছে বসে রইল। আর, চতুর শেয়াল জায়গা ছেড়ে চলে গেল।
