The greenhouse effect is the process by which some of the world's atmosphere traps heat from the Sun and warms the world's surface. It is very essential for life. Without the greenhouse effect, the world's average temperature would drop below freezing. As a result, no life would have existed in the world. Carbon dioxide, CFC, methane, ethane, and nitrous oxide are important greenhouse gases. These gases are naturally present in the atmosphere. But nowadays these gases have increased a lot due to the burning of fossil fuels, deforestation, and industries. As a result, the temperature of the world has increased much more than before, due to which the world has become warmer. And it is called global warming. The global temperature is constantly increasing. As a result, the world climate has changed drastically. And, because of this climate change, polar ice caps have started to melt, sea levels have risen and natural disasters like cyclones, floods, droughts, etc. are occurring more frequently. If this situation continues, the world will become uninhabitable. So, it is necessary to get rid of this green hope effect soon. And to get rid of the greenhouse effect, we need to reduce the amount of other greenhouse gases, including carbon dioxide. For this, more trees should be planted, cutting down of trees and the establishment of new industries should be stopped. After all, the greenhouse effect must be controlled to bring the temperature of the atmosphere back to its former state. And if we can do this, it is possible to get rid of the negative effects of the greenhouse effect.

গ্রীনহাউস ইফেক্ট হল এমন একটি প্রক্রিয়া যার মাধ্যমে পৃথিবীর বায়ুমণ্ডলে কিছু সূর্যের তাপ আটকে থাকে এবং পৃথিবীর পৃষ্ঠকে উষ্ণ করে। এটা জীবনের জন্য খুবই প্রয়োজনীয়। গ্রিনহাউস ইফেক্ট না থাকলে বিশ্বের গড় তাপমাত্রা হিমাঙ্কের নিচে নেমে যেত। ফলে পৃথিবীতে কোনো প্রাণের অস্তিত্ব থাকত না। কার্বন ডাই অক্সাইড, সিএফসি, মিথেন, ইথেন এবং নাইট্রাস অক্সাইড হল গুরুত্বপূর্ণ গ্রিনহাউস গ্যাস। এই গ্যাসগুলো প্রাকৃতিকভাবে বায়ুমণ্ডলে থাকে। কিন্তু বর্তমানে জীবাশ্ম জ্বালানি পোড়ানো, বন উজাড় ও শিল্প-কারখানার কারণে এসব গ্যাস অনেক বেড়ে গেছে। ফলে পৃথিবীর তাপমাত্রা আগের চেয়ে অনেক বেড়ে গেছে যার কারণে পৃথিবী উষ্ণ হয়ে উঠেছে। আর একে বলা হয় গ্লোবাল ওয়ার্মিং। প্রতিনিয়ত বৈশ্বিক তাপমাত্রা বেড়ে চলেছে। ফলে বিশ্ব জলবায়ুর ব্যাপক পরিবর্তন হয়েছে। আর এই জলবায়ু পরিবর্তনের কারণে, মেরু অঞ্চলের বরফ গলতে শুরু করেছে, সমুদ্রপৃষ্ঠের উচ্চতা বেড়ে গেছে এবং ঘূর্ণিঝড়, বন্যা, খরা ইত্যাদির মতো প্রাকৃতিক দুর্যোগ ঘন ঘন ঘটছে। এ অবস্থা চলতে থাকলে পৃথিবী বসবাসের অযোগ্য হয়ে পড়বে। তাই, এই গ্রিনহপ ইফেক্ট থেকে শীঘ্রই পরিত্রাণ পেতে হবে। আর গ্রিনহাউস ইফেক্ট থেকে পরিত্রাণ পেতে কার্বন ডাই অক্সাইডসহ অন্যান্য গ্রিনহাউস গ্যাসের পরিমাণ কমাতে হবে। এ জন্য বেশি করে গাছ লাগাতে হবে, গাছ কাটা ও নতুন শিল্প প্রতিষ্ঠান স্থাপন বন্ধ করতে হবে। সর্বোপরি, বায়ুমণ্ডলের তাপমাত্রাকে পূর্বের অবস্থায় ফিরিয়ে আনতে গ্রিনহাউস ইফেক্টকে নিয়ন্ত্রণ করতে হবে। আর এটা করতে পারলে গ্রিন হাউস ইফেক্টের নেতিবাচক প্রভাব থেকে মুক্তি পাওয়া সম্ভব।
