Preposition rules in Bangla
Preposition কাকে বলে?
যে Word কোন Noun বা Pronoun এর পূর্বে বসে তার সাথে Sentence এর অন্যান্য Word এর সম্পর্ক স্থাপন করে তাকে Preposition বলে।
যেমন :
i) Akash
went to Khulna.
ii) Ashik
has come from Dhaka.
iii) He
lives with his uncle.
Preposition কত প্রকার ও কী কী?
Preposition ৬ প্রকার। যথা:
i) Simple
Preposition.
ii) Double
Preposition.
iii)
Compound Preposition.
iv) Phrase
Preposition.
v) Disguised
Preposition.
vi) Participle Preposition.
1. Simple Preposition: যে Preposition একটি মাত্র Word নিয়ে গঠিত হয় তাকে Simple Preposition বলে।
যেমন :
In, at, to,
for, of, out, from, up, with, by, through, over, on, about etc.
2. Double Preposition: দুটি Simple Preposition এক সাথে পাশাপাশি বসলে তাকে Double Preposition বলে।
যেমন :
Into=in+to, upon=up+on, within=with+in,
without=with+out etc.
3. Compound Preposition: Noun, adjective or adverb এর পূর্বে Simple Preposition যুক্ত হয়ে যে Preposition গঠিত হয় তাকে Compound Preposition বলে।
যেমন :
Beside = by
(be)+side, before = by (be)+fore, behind = by (be) +hind, between = by (be) +
twin, along = on(a)+ long etc.
4. Phrase Preposition: দুই বা ততোধিক শব্দের সমন্বয়ে গঠিত কোন Phrase যদি Preposition এর
মত কাজ করে তাহলে ঐ Phrase কে
Phrase Preposition বলে।
যেমন :
On account
of, by dint of, in spite of, in front of etc.
5. Disguised Preposition: কখনও কখনও in, on, of ও at এর পরিবর্তে a অথবা o ব্যবহৃত হয়। এরূপ a অথবা o কে Disguised Preposition বলে।
যেমন :
i) My father
went a hunting. (on hunting) a = on.
ii) Now it
is 10 0’ Clock. (of clock) o = of.
6. Participle Preposition: Present Participle অথবা Past Participle যদি Preposition এর মত ব্যবহৃত হয় তখন তাকে Participle Preposition বলে।
যেমন :
i) Considering the matter, she is in the
dark.
ii) Speaking the truth, you are an honest man.

Rule: ছোট স্থান, অল্প
সময়, মাত্রা, দিকে, মূল্য, লক্ষ্য, দক্ষতা,
দূরত্ব, মুখ ভেংচানো, বিদ্রুপ, তাকা্নো ইত্যাদি অর্থে at ব্যবহৃত হয়।

Preposition to এর ব্যবহার
Rule: দিকে, অভিমুখে, পরিধিৱ সীমানা, কোন কিছুর সূচনা, গ্রহণ, কর্মের মাধ্যমে প্রভাবিত, দূটি বস্তুর সম্পৃক্ত, তুলনা বা অনুপাত, পরিমাণ বা হার, সময়ের ব্যাপ্তি ইত্যাদি বোঝাতে To ব্যবহৃত হয়।
যেমন:

Preposition with এর ব্যবহার
Rule: উপস্তিতি বা সাথে, থাকা বা বহন করা, দ্বারা, সহ, বিপক্ষে, ব্যাপারে
কিংবা বিষয়ে অর্ন্তভূক্ত হওয়া, কারণে কিংবা ফল স্বরূপ
আলাদা, সত্বেও, একই সময়ে ইত্যাদি
বোঝাতে with ব্যবহৃত হয়।
যেমন :

Rule: জন্য, সম্পর্কে, পক্ষে, উদ্দেশ্যে, কারণে, বিনিময়ে, সময়ের ব্যপকতা, নির্দিষ্ট সময় ইত্যাদি বোঝাতে For ব্যবহৃত হয়।

Rule: উপরে, ভার বহন করা, পরিবহণে আরোহণ
করা, দিন বা তারিখ, দিক, ভিত্তি বা কারণ, জীবিকা নির্বাহ, বিষয়ে ইত্যাদি বুঝাতে on ব্যবহৃত হয়।
যেমন:

বিদ্যমান ইত্যাদি বুঝাতে in ব্যবহৃত হয়।

Rule: দুইয়ের মধ্যে, পৃথক করতে ও সংযোগ বুঝাতে between ব্যবহৃত হয়।

Rule: অনেকের মধ্যে, পরিবেষ্টিত, অর্ন্তভূক্ত ইত্যাদি অর্থে among ব্যবহৃত হয় ৷

অনুসারে, মাধ্যমে ইত্যাদি বুঝাতে by ব্যবহৃত হয়।

Rule: ভিতরে প্রবেশ, গতিশীলতা, অভিমুখে, অবস্থার পরিবর্তন ইত্যাদি বুঝাতে into ব্যবহৃত৷

Note: বাইরে বোঝাতে outside, উপরের বা বেশী বুঝাতে over, মধ্য দিয়ে বুঝাতে through, অতিক্রম বুঝাতে past, মত বুঝাতে like/as, ব্যতিত বুঝাতে but, ব্যতিত, বিনা বা ছাড়া বুঝাতে without, নির্দিষ্ট সময়ের মধ্যে বুঝাতে within, উপর বুঝাতে on/upon, উচ্চতর স্থান, উপরে, বৃদ্ধি বা চুড়ায় দাড় করানো বুঝাতে up, ভিতরে বুঝাতে inside, উচু থেকে নিচু, বরাবর কিংবা অভিমুখে বুঝাতে down, অধীনে, তলে বা নিচে বুঝাতে beneath, নিচু স্তরে বুঝাতে below, নাগালের বাইরে বা বেশী কিছু বুঝাতে Beyond, পশ্চাতে বা পিছনে বুঝাতে behind, আগে বা পূর্বে বুঝাতে before, পরে বুঝাতে after, বরাবর বা সারি বুঝাতে along, উচ্চতর স্থান বা স্তর বুঝাতে above বসে৷
Appropriate preposition
1. নিচের Noun গুলোর পর Preposition "For" বসে।
Affection,
ambition, anxiety, apology, appetite, aptitude, blame, candidate,
capacity, contempt, craving, desire, fitness, fondness, liking, opportunity,
partiality, passion, pity, surety etc.
2. নিচের Noun গুলোর পর Preposition “With” বসে।
Enmity,
intimacy, comparison, bargain, relation etc.
3. নিচের Noun গুলোর পর Preposition “Of” বসে।
Want,
result, proof, failure, doubt, charge etc.
4. নিচের Noun গুলোর পর Preposition “To” বসে।
Temptation,
supplement, submission, reference, objection, exception, limit, key,
indifference, incentive, dislike, disgrace, attention, approach, antidote,
alternative.
5. নিচের Adjective গুলোর পর Preposition “To” বসে।
Suitable, re1eted, prone, prior, preferable, partial, equal, opposite, obliged, natural, necessary, loyal, indigenous, favorable, faithful, essential, due, devoted, addicted, detrimental, harmful, injurious, contrary, congenial, conducive, common, callous, beneficial, appropriate, akin, agreeable, affectionate, adjacent, adequate, accustomed acceptable, abhorrent etc.
6. নিচের Adjective গুলোর পর Preposition “In” বসে।
Absorbed,
accurate, correct, defective, deficient, diligent, fertile, interested, involved,
proficient, temperate etc.
7. নিচের Adjective গুলোর পর Preposition “With” বসে।
Popular,
satisfied, intimate, impaired, infected gifted, endowed, acquainted, beset,
contemporary, contented contrasted, delighted, disgusted etc.
8. নিচের Adjective গুলোর পর Preposition “Of” বসে।
Sure,
suspicious, tolerant, vain, void, worthy, informed, productive, proud, accused
afraid, aware, conscious, bereft, cautious, certain, confident, deprived,
destitute, devoid, dull, easy, envious, fond, greedy, guilty etc.
9. নিচের Verb গুলোর পর Preposition "To" বসে।
Yield,
surrender, submit, refer, contribute, prefer, pretend, object, listen, belong,
attribute, attend, aspire, appoint, apologize, allot, adhere, adapt, accede
etc.
10. নিচের Verb গুলোর পর Preposition
“With” বসে।
Associate, clash, condole, cope, correspond, credit, till, part, quarrel, side, sympathize etc.
11. নিচের Verb গুলোর পর Preposition
“From” বসে।
Abstain,
derive, deviate, differ, descent, emerge, escape, prevent, protect, recover,
refrain, etc.
12. নিচের Verb গুলোর পর Preposition “Of” বসে।
Beware, host,
despair, die, table, etc.
13. নিচের Verb গুলোর পর Preposition “In” বসে।
Indulge,
involve, delight, enlist, etc.
14. নিচের Verb গুলোর পর Preposition “on” বসে।
Depend, comment, decide, determine, enlarge, resolve, liberate, etc.
