ইংরেজি গ্রামারে Parts of speech একটি গুরুত্বপূর্ণ আইটেম কারণ মানুষ দৈনিন্দ জীবনে যেসব শব্দ ব্যবহার করে সেসব শব্দ প্রত্যেকটি এক একটি Part of speech. আর Parts of speech সম্পর্কে ভালো ধারণা না থাকলে ইংরেজিতে কোন গ্রামাটিক্যাল আইটেম ভালোভাবে বোঝা যায় না। আমাদের বেশিরভাগ ছাত্রছাত্রীরা Parts of speech বোঝে না। ফলে তারা অন্যান্য গ্রামাটিক্যাল আইটেমগুলো বুঝতে পারেনা। তাই ইংরেজি গ্রামার শিখতে হলে সর্বপ্রথম Parts of speech Bangla সম্পর্কে ভালো ধারণা অর্জন করতে হবে।
যে সমস্ত ছাত্র-ছাত্রীরা Parts of speech বোঝে না তাদের জন্য আজ আমি Parts of speech Bangla আর্টিকেলটি লিখলাম। আমার এই আর্টিকেলটি পড়লে যেকেউ নিশ্চিত Parts of speech সম্পর্কে ভালো ধারণা অর্জন করতে পারবে। তাহলে এখন Parts of speech Bangla আর্টিকেলটি পড়া যাক।
Parts of speech কাকে বলে
বাক্যে ব্যবহৃত প্রত্যেকটি শব্দকে Parts of Speech বলে।
In English: Every word
used in a sentence is called part of speech.

Definition and Examples of Eight kinds of Part of Speech
Noun কাকে বলে
কোন ব্যক্তি, বস্তু, স্থান
বা ক্রিয়ার নামকে Noun বলে।
In English: A noun is
the name of any person, object, place or action.
যেমন:-
Name of person:- Rajib, Talha, Ruhul Kuddus,
Jannatul ইত্যাদি।
Name of Object:- Book, Calculator, Bamboo ইত্যাদি।
Name of Place:- Dhaka, Khulna, Paikgacha,
Sundarbans ইত্যাদি।
Name of Action:- Hesitation, Purification, Function ইত্যাদি।
Pronoun কাকে বলে
Noun এর পরিবর্তে যে শব্দ ব্যবহৃত
হয় তাকে Pronoun বলে।
In English: A pronoun
is a word used in the place of a noun.
যেমন:-
I, we, you, he, she,
it, they, me, us, him, her, them, my, our, your, his, its, their, this, that, these, who, what, which ইত্যাদি।
Adjective কাকে বলে
যে Word দ্বারা দোষ, গুন, অবস্থা, সংখ্যা
ও পরিমাণ বুঝায় তাকে Adjective বলে।
In English: An
adjective is a word that qualifies a noun or a pronoun
যেমন:-
Good, beautiful, blue, fine, hard, ugly,
naughty, rich, little, small, a, an, the, two, first, second ইত্যাদি।
Verb কাকে বলে
যে Word দ্বারা কোন কিছু করা বুঝায়
তাকে Verb বলে।
In English: A verb is a
word that means doing something.
যেমন:-
Be, have, do, run, think, dance, jump, see, go,
come, send, write, sing ইত্যাদি।
Adverb কাকে বলে
যে Word দ্বারা কোন verb, adjective বা অন্য কোন adverb কে পরিবর্তন বা তার সাথে নতুন অর্থ সংযোগ বুঝায় তাকে Adverb বলে।
In English: An adverb is a word that modifies a verb, an adjective, or another adverb.

An adverb is a word that describes a verb,
adjective or another adverb. Adverbs mainly modify manner, place, time,
frequency, etc. It answers questions like when?/where?/how?/Why?/ in what way?/
and to what extent?

Preposition কাকে বলে
যে Word কোন Noun অথবা Pronoun এর পূর্বে বসে সেই
পূর্ববর্তী কোন বাক্যের সঙ্গে সম্পর্ক প্রদর্শন করে তাকে Preposition বলে।
In English: A preposition is a word placed before a noun or
a pronoun to show a relation to some other word in the sentence.
যেমন:-
At, in, to, for, of, out, from, up, with, by, through, over, on, about, into, upon, within,
without, beside, before, behind, between, along etc.
Conjunction কাকে বলে
দুই বা ততোধিক
বাক্য একত্রিত করে যুক্ত করার জন্য যে Word ব্যবহৃত হয় তাকে Conjunction বলে।
In English: A Conjunction is a word used to join two or more
sentences/words.
যেমন:-
As, If, Unless, Until, Till, While, Lest, Because, However, Though, Although ইত্যাদি।
Interjection কাকে বলে
প্রবল তাৎক্ষণিক আবেগ প্রকাশ করার জন্য যে Word ব্যবহার হয় তাকে Interjection বলে।
In English: An
interjection is a word which expresses some strong and sudden feeling or
emotion.
যেমন:-
Hurrah, alas, oh, ah, bravo, hello, hush, fie fie ইত্যাদি।

Traditional Grammar অনুযায়ী Noun প্রথমত দুই প্রকার ।
যথা: -
i) Concrete Noun.
ii) Abstract Noun.
Concrete noun কাকে বলে
Proper Noun, Common Noun, Collective noun ও Material Noun এই চার প্রকার Noun কে একত্রে Concrete Noun বলে। এখন Concrete Noun এর এই চার প্রকার এবং Abstract Noun মিলে মোট Noun হল ৫ প্রকার।
1. Proper Noun.
2. Common Noun.
3. Collective Noun.
4 Material Noun.
5. Abstract Noun.
Proper noun কাকে বলে
যে Word দ্বারা নির্দিষ্ট কোন ব্যক্তি, বস্তু
বা স্থানের নাম বুঝায় তাকে Proper
Noun বলে ।
যেমন: -
i) Farjana
is a good girl.
ii)) Dhaka
is the capital of Bangladesh.
Common noun কাকে বলে
যে Word দ্বারা কোন ব্যক্তি, বস্তু বা স্থানের সাধারণ নাম
বুঝায় তাকে Common Noun বলে ।
যেমন:
i) He is a good boy.
ii) His father is a doctor.
Collective noun কাকে বলে
যে Word দ্বারা এককভাবে কাউকে না
বুঝায়ে কোন কিছুর সমষ্টিগত নাম বুঝায় তাকে Collective Noun বলে।
যেমন : -
i) I read in class seven.
ii) I saw a herd
of sheep in the field.
Material noun কাকে বলে
যে সমস্ত জিনিষ
গুনা যায় না শুধু মাত্র ওজন বা পযিমাণ করা যায় তাকে Material Noun বলে । Material Noun এর ক্ষেত্রে যদি আমরা নীচের
ছন্দটি মনে রাখি তাহলে চেনা সহজ হবে –
গুন্তে

Material noun তাকে ধরি।
Material Noun এর আগে,
Articles কভু
নাহি লাগে ।

i) Gold
is a precious metal.

Abstract noun কাকে বলে
যে Word দ্বারা দোষ, গুন ও অবস্থার নাম বুঝায় অথবা যা ধরা যায় না বা ছোয়া
যায় না, শুদুমাত্র অনুভব করা যায় তাকে Abstract Noun বলে ।
যেমন: -
i) Kindness
is a great virtue.
ii) Honesty
is the best policy.
iii) Patience
has its reward.
iv) Unity
is strength.
v) Friendship
makes a man happy.
List of abstract noun
যখন কোন শব্দের
শেষে cy, ce, age, ry, ice, ship, tion, ness, ism, ty,
ment ইত্যাদি থাকবে তখন বুঝতে হবে সে গুলি Abstract Noun হবে ।
যেমন :-
Advice, carefulness, wisdom, growth, accuracy,
heroism.
Part of speech Bangla
এছাড়াও নিম্নলিখিত
পাঁচ প্রকারের শব্দ Abstract Noun হিসেবে গণ্য হবে ।
1. Quality (গুণ বাচক শব্দ): Gentleness, Greatness,
Strength.
2. State (অবস্থা বাচক শব্দ): Healthy, sickness,
Childhood, freedom.
3. Action (কাজ বাচক শব্দ): Arrival, Departure,
education, obedience.
4. Name of Science and Arts (Science এবং Arts এর Subject সমূহের নাম)
Chemistry, Physics, Logic, Economics.
5. Name of Disease
(রোগের নাম): Malaria, Asthma,
Gastric, Dysentery.
Function of a noun in the sentence
1. বাক্যের
Subject হিসাবে বসে: The
dog is faithful to its master.
2. বাক্যের Object হিসাবে বসে: He reads a book.
3. Verb এর Complement হিসাবে বসে: We made him captain.
4. Preposition এর Object হিসাবে বসে: He was absent from the meeting.
5. Case in Apposition হিসাবে বসে: Kamal, teacher of Dhaka
University is a pious man.
Countable and uncountable noun
Countable noun কাকে বলে
যে Noun কে গণনা করা যায় তাকে Countable noun বলে। Countable noun দুই ধরণের।
1. Singular countable noun
2. Plural countable noun
They can be used with a/an and with
numbers and many other determiners (e.g. these, a few).
যেমন-
a car, three cars, my cousin, my two
cousins, a book, a box, full of books, a city, several big cities.
Singular and Plural countable noun in the

i) She’s got two sisters and a younger brother.
ii) Most people buy things like cameras and MP3-players
online these days.
iii) These shoes look old now.
iv) I’ll take a few magazines with me for the
flight.
v) I have bought a mobile phone.
Uncountable noun কাকে বলে
যে Noun কে গণনা করা যায় না তাকে Uncountable noun বলে।
যেমন-
Ideas and experiences: advice,
information, progress, news, luck, fun, work.
Materials and substances: water, rice, cement, gold, milk.
Weather words: weather, thunder, lightning, rain, snow.
Names for groups or collections of things: furniture, equipment, rubbish,
luggage.
Other common uncountable nouns include: accommodation, baggage, homework, knowledge, money, permission, research, traffic, travel.

Adverb কে বিভিন্ন ভাবে বিভক্ত করা যায় । এগুলো নিচে
বর্ণনা করা হল।

of time
যে Adverb কোন কিছু কখন/কোন সময়ে ঘটেছে তা বর্ণনা/উল্লেখ করে তাকে Adverb
of time বলে ।এটা Sentence এর শুরুতে অথবা শেষে ব্যবহৃত হয় ।
An adverb which tells us
when something is done is called adverb of time. It can be used at the
beginning or the end of a sentence.

Yesterday, today, afterward, always,
immediately, last, now, soon, ইত্যাদি।
Adverb of time examples
i) I will go to the varsity today.
ii) Always
speak the truth.
iii) I should go there immediately.
Adverb of place
যে Adverb কোন কিছু কোথায় ঘটেছে তা
উল্লেখ করে তাকে Adverb of
place বলে। এটা verb এর পরে, direct object হিসাবে
অথবা Sentence এর শুরুতে ব্যবহৃত হয়।
An adverb which tells us where something is done
or happened is called adverb of place.
It can be used after the verb as a direct object or at the beginning of
a sentence.

Here, above, below, under, upstairs, there, over
there ইত্যাদি।

i) I will go upstairs to see her.
ii) I like to have my lunch here.
iii) They are sitting under the tree.
Adverb of manner
যে Adverb কোন কিছু কিভাবে হয়/হচ্ছে/হবে
তা ব্যাখ্যা/উল্লেখ করে তাকে Adverb of manner বলে ।
An adverb which tells us how something is done

Adverb of degree
যে Adverb কোন
কিছু কি পরিমাণে/কতটুকু ঘটেছে তা বোঝায় তাকে Adverb of degree বলে ।

or the extent that something is done is called adverb of degree.

যে Adverb কোন কিছু কতবার বা কত সময়
পরপর হয় তা বোঝায় তাকে Adverb of
frequency বলে ।
An adverb which tells us how often something is
done is called adverb of frequency.

generally, usually, nearly, again, ever, hardly ever, ইত্যাদি।

Affirmative or Negative adverb
এটা কোন কিছু
সত্য কি মিথ্যা তা বলে অথবা কোন কিছুর উপর গুরুত্ব আরোপ করে।
It tells whether a thing is true or false or it
emphasizes a matter.

Interjection definition
Interjection (আবেগ সূচক
অব্যয়): যে Word মনের
আবেগ প্রকাশ করে তাকে Interjection বলে। Interjection একটি
ভিন্নধর্মী Part of Speech। অন্যান্য Part of
Speech -এর মত বাক্যের অন্যান্য Word বা অংশের সাথে Interjection -এর প্রত্যক্ষ সম্পৃক্ততা নেই ।Interjection আবেগ বা Emotion হচ্ছে Sudden change of mind। অর্থাৎ Interjection মনের কোন হঠাৎ পরিবর্তিত
অবস্থাকে ব্যক্ত করে। এ পরিবর্তিত অবস্থা আনন্দের বা দুখেঃর, যে
কোন ধরনের হতে পারে।
Preposition, Conjunction ও Interjection বাংলায় এ তিনটিকে বলে অব্যয়। কারন এগুলোর কোন ব্যয় বা পরিবর্তন নেই।
Interjection (আবেগসূচক অব্যয়): “An Interjection is a word which expresses some sudden feeling.”
অন্যভাবে বলা যায়, “An Interjection is a word or sound thrown into
a sentence to express
some feeling of the mind.”
সহজভাবে বলা যায়, যে word মনের আকস্মিক আবেগ প্রকাশ
করে তাকে Interjection বলে।
যেমন: :
i) Hurrah ! Today is holiday.
ii) Alas ! He is dead
iii) Oh
! What a nice view.
iv) Bravo
! You have done well.
Parts of speech চেনার উপায়
1. যে সকল Word বা শব্দের শেষে tion, ment, ness, hood, dom, ship, th, ity, gy, phy, my, ure, cy, tude, mony, nce, age, er, or sion, ist,
ee, ism ইত্যাদি
suffix বা প্রত্যয় যুক্ত থাকে তখন
উহা সাধারণত Noun হয়।
যেমনঃ
Education, Importance, etc.
2. যে সকল word বা শব্দের শেষে ant, est, le, ive ble, ish, less, ary, ful,
ar, al sque, id, lle, ry, line, ous, ose, ent, an ,most, less, least, ate, ic, ইত্যাদি
এবং শব্দের পূর্বে More/Most থাকে উহা Adjective হয়।
যেমনঃ
Beautiful, Best, Important ইত্যাদি।
3. Adverb: যে
সকল Word বা শব্দের শেষে wise, ways, ly, ward ইত্যাদি Suffix গুলো থাকে উহা Adverb হয়।
যেমন:
Otherwise, properly ইত্যাদি।
4. যে সকল Word বা শব্দের শেষে te, d, ed, ain, fy, e, en, ize, se, ing, ate, esce, ise, ish).ইত্যাদি থাকলে উহা verb হয়।

Build, beautify, made ইত্যাদি।
এক Parts of Speech থেকে অন্য Parts of Speech রূপান্তর করার উপায়
1. Adjective এর
শেষে ly যোগ থাকলে সাধারণত Adverb হয়। আবার ly বাদ
দিলে উহা Adjective হয়।
যেমনঃ
Slow → slowly, slowly → slow.
2. কোন Word বা শব্দের শেষ হতে ce/cy বাদ দিয়ে t/te যোগ করলে Adjective হয়।

Importance →important.
3. কোন Word বা শব্দের শেষ হতে ity বাদ দিলে Adjective হয়।
যেমনঃ
Popularity→popular
4. কোন Word বা শব্দের শেষ হতে ness বাদ দিলে Adjective হয়।

Awfulness→awful
5. কোন Word বা শব্দের শেষ হতে hood/dom বাদ দিলে Adjective হয়।

6. কোন Word বা শব্দের শেষ হতে tion বাদ দিয়ে t/te যোগ করলে verb হয়।

7. কোন Word বা শব্দের শেষ হতে ment বাদ দিলে verb হয়।

8. কোন Word বা শব্দের শেষ হতে ance বাদ দিলে verb হয়।

9. কোন Word বা শব্দের শেষ হতে age বাদ দিলে verb হয়।

10. কোন Word বা শব্দের প্রথমে de, dis, il, im, in, ir, un, miss ইত্যাদি Prefix বা
উপসর্গ থাকলে উহা বাদ দিলে বিপরীত অর্থবোধক বা antonym হয়।
যেমনঃ
Decontaminate→ contaminate, disconnect→connect,
immortal→ mortal.
11. যে সকল verb এর আগে Be, en, em, im ইত্যাদি prefix বা উপসর্গ থাকে তখন উহা বাদ দিলে Noun/adjective হয়।
যেমনঃ
Beflower→ flower, Enable→able
13. যে সকল verb এর পরে en, ify, ize, ইত্যাদি suffix বা প্রত্যয় যোগ থাকে উহা বাদ
দিলে Noun/adjective হয়।
যেমনঃ
Broaden→broad, signify→ sing
14. কোন verb এর শেষে e থাকলে e বাদ দিয়ে "or" suffix যোগ করে Noun গঠন করা হয়।
যেমনঃ
Calculate→calculator
15. কোন verb এর শেষে de থাকলে de বাদ দিয়ে "sion" suffix যোগ করে Noun গঠন করা হয়।
যেমনঃ
Conclude→conclusion
17. কোন verb এর শেষে y থাকলে y বাদ দিয়ে "ier" suffix যোগ
করে Noun গঠন করা হয়।

18. কোন verb এর শেষে se থাকলে e বাদ দিয়ে "ion" suffix যোগ করে Noun গঠন করা হয়।

19. কোন verb এর শেষে rt থাকলে t বাদ দিয়ে "sion" suffix যোগ করে Noun গঠন করা হয়।

20. কোন verb এর শেষে nt থাকলে t বাদ দিয়ে "sion" suffix যোগ করে Noun গঠন করা হয়।

21. কোন verb এর শেষে it থাকলে t বাদ দিয়ে "ssion" suffix যোগ করে Noun গঠন করা হয়।

22. কোন verb এর শেষে ate থাকলে e বাদ দিয়ে "ion" suffix যোগ করে Noun গঠন করা হয়।

23. কোন verb এর শেষে e থাকলে e বাদ দিয়ে "able" suffix যোগ করে Adjective গঠন করা হয়। যেমনঃ

24. কোন verb এর শেষে ate থাকলে ate বাদ দিয়ে "able" suffix যোগ করে Adjective গঠন করা হয়।

25. কোন verb এর শেষে fy থাকলে y বাদ দিয়ে "iable" suffix যোগ করে Adjective গঠন করা হয়। যেমনঃ
Classify→ Classifiable
26. কোধ verb এর শেষে y থাকলে y বাদ দিয়ে "ied" suffix যোগ করে Adjective গঠন করা হয়।

27. কোন verb এর শেষে ge, se, de থাকলে ge, se,
de বাদ দিয়ে "sive"
suffix যোগ করে করা হয়।

28. কোন verb এর শেষে duce থাকলে e বাদ
দিয়ে "tive" suffix যোগ করে Adjective গঠন করা হয়।
