Once a crow was very
thirsty on a very hot summer day. It flew from one place to the other to drink
water. But there was no water anywhere around. Finding no water anywhere, it
did not lose hope. It flew away. It believed that no effort goes in vain. According to its belief, it finally saw a jar in the distance. It was
very happy to see the jar. Then it flew to the jar to drink water. But
there was a small amount of water in the jar and it was also beyond its reach.
There was little water at the bottom of the jar. It repeatedly went to the jar
to drink water but failed to drink water, flew away and came back again. It
kept trying like this but could not find any way to drink water. As a result,
the crow became a little hopeless and wondered how it would drink this water.
At last, it was flying away in frustration because it found no way to drink water. While
flying away, it found a pile of pebbles nearby. The crow was very clever. It
discovered a fantastic way to drink water in a moment with its ready wit. It
took the pebbles one by one in its beaks and started entering them into the
jar. As a result, little by little, the water in the jar began to rise to the
top. Once when the water reached the brim of the jar, the crow drank the water
to its heart's content and flew away. After all, the strong willpower of
the crow helped it quench its thirst.
