A liar cowboy story
Once upon a time, there lived a cowboy in a village. There was a forest near the village. The cowboy used to graze the cows in the field near the forest. He was very naughty. He used to fool people by telling lies. While grazing the cows, he almost shouted and said, "Wolf! Wolf! Help! Help!" On hearing his shouting, the easy and simple-minded villagers rushed to the spot to help him. When they went to the spot, they found no wolf. However, when the villagers approached him, the cowboy laughed at them and made fun. In this way, the cowboy made fun of the villagers twice in a row. At this, the villagers were very dissatisfied with the cowboy and forbade him to indulge in such fun. But one day a real wolf came to him and started killing his cows one by one. Then the cowboy was very frightened. When he found the wolf, he cried out as before and said, "Wolf! Wolf! Help! Help!" On that day the villagers also heard his shouting but no one came to help him because they thought the cowboy was making fun of them again. Meanwhile, the wolf killed many of his cows and then killed the cowboy. In fact, the cowboy had to die prematurely on that day because of telling lies.

এক সময় এক গ্রামে এক রাখাল বালক বাস করত। গ্রামের পাশেই ছিল একটি জঙ্গল। রাখাল বালকটি বনের কাছে মাঠের মধ্যে গরু চরাত। সে খুব দুষ্টু ছিল। সে মিথ্যা কথা বলে মানুষকে বোকা বানাতো। গরু চরানোর সময় সে প্রায় চিৎকার করে বলত, "নেকড়ে! নেকড়ে! সাহায্য কর! সাহায্য কর!" তার চিৎকার শুনে সহজ সরল মনের গ্রামবাসীরা তাকে সাহায্য করতে ঘটনাস্থলে ছুটে যেতো। ঘটনাস্থলে যেয়ে তারা কোন নেকড়েকে দেখতে পেত না। যাইহোক, গ্রামবাসীরা তার কাছে পৌছানোর পর রাখাল বালকটি তাদেরকে দেখে হাসত এবং তাদেল সাথে মজা করত। এভাবে পরপর দুইবার রাখাল বালকটি গ্রামবাসীদের সাথে মজা করল। এতে গ্রামবাসীরা রাখাল বালকটির প্রতি খুবই অসন্তুষ্ট হল এবং তাকে এমন মজা করতে নিষেধ করল। কিন্তু একদিন সত্যিকারের নেকড়ে তার কাছে এসে একে একে তার গরু মারতে শুরু করল। তারপর নেকড়েটিকে দেখে রাখাল বালকটি খুব ভয় পেয়ে গেল। সে আগের মতই চিৎকার করে বলতে লাগল, "নেকড়ে! নেকড়ে! সাহায্য কর! সাহায্য কর!" সেদিনও গ্রামবাসীরা তার চিৎকার শুনেছিল কিন্তু কেউ তাকে সাহায্য করতে আসেনি কারণ তারা ভেবেছিল রাখাল বালকটি আবার তাদের সাথে মজা করছে। এদিকে নেকড়েটি তার অনেক গরু মেরে ফেলল এবং তারপর রাখাল বালকটিকে মেরে ফেলল। আসলে, মিথ্যা বলার কারণে রাখাল বালকটিকে সেদিন অকালে জীবন দিতে হল।
