Bijon:

বিজন: গাছ আমাদের পরিবেশের একটি গুরুত্বপূর্ণ উপাদান। গাছ ছাড়া মানুষ
বাঁচতে পারে না। অন্যদিকে মানুষ ছাড়া গাছ বাঁচতে
পারে না। প্রকৃতপক্ষে, মানুষ
এবং গাছ একে অপরের উপর নির্ভরশীল।
সুজন: কিভাবে?
বিজন: গাছ আমাদের সরবরাহ করার জন্য অক্সিজেন তৈরি করে
এবং বেঁচে থাকার জন্য কার্বন ডাই অক্সাইড গ্রহণ করে পরিবেশ রক্ষা করে।
সুজন: সত্যি?
বিজন: অবশ্যই। এছাড়া গাছ আমাদের খাদ্য,
কাঠ, ছায়া ও আশ্রয় দেয়। কিছু গাছ ওষুধ হিসেবে ব্যবহার করা হয়।
সুজন: এত উপকারী?
বিজন: হ্যাঁ, আরও শোন।
সুজন: বল।
বিজন: প্রতিদিন মানুষ প্রচুর গাছ কাটছে। ফলে দিন দিন গাছ
কমে যাচ্ছে। এ অবস্থা চলতে থাকলে পৃথিবী একদিন
মরুভূমিতে পরিণত হবে। গাছের অভাবে বৃষ্টি হবে না। আর প্রাকৃতিক দুর্যোগই হবে আমাদের একমাত্র সঙ্গী। তাই বাঁচতে হলে বেশি বেশি গাছ লাগাতে হবে।
সুজন: এত কিছু জানলে কিভাবে?
বিজন: হ্যাঁ, আমি জানি। আরো শোন। গাছ আমাদের উত্তম বন্ধু। বন্ধুরা হয়তো তোমার সাথে বিশ্বাসঘাতকতা করতে পারে কিন্তু গাছ
কখনো তোমার সাথে বিশ্বাসঘাতকতা করবে না। তারা
আমাদের চিরকাল সাহায্য করবে।
সুজন: বৃক্ষরোপণের গুরুত্ব তুমি কিভাবে জানলে?
বিজন: আমার বড় ভাই আমাকে একদিন বলেছিল। তারপর থেকে প্রতি
বছর আমি গাছ লাগাই।
সুজন: আমি বুঝতে পেরেছি যে বৃক্ষরোপণ অবশ্যই ভালো কাজ।এখন থেকে আমিও
তোমার মতো প্রতিবছর গাছ লাগাব। বৃক্ষরোপণের গুরুত্ব
